Consistently Honest
I've been taking my GTI for a couple of years now. The service is friendly and knowledgeable. You can rest assured they will never do work your car doesn't need.

Overpriced
I went to this place a twice - they are not incompetent but definitely OVER priced.
I was charged $60 to add transmission fluid (not drain and fill - just adding fluid). I didn't realize the robbery at the time. But I told my more knowledgeable friend and he said I was taken advantage of.
They quoted me $900 for a new catalytic converter - I got it done for under $400 at a more reputable mechanic.
I'm not an expert on prices and I thought I could trust these guys but obviously I was wrong. I understand paying a little more for quality. But this is the standard clip job you here about so often. You have been warned.

Friendly, reliable, honest...
Air cooled Volkswagens seem to attract the cheapskate do-it-yourself crowd. If your Volkswagen was previously owned by one of these types (and it probably was), chances are your car has been monkeyed around in a shoddy, half-a**ed way. If you have a 30 year old VW, like me ('79 type 2) it should go without saying that things will go wrong in unforeseeable and sometimes baffling ways. It's up to real mechanics, ones who love what they do like the guys at Wabbit, to make sense of all the mess. Keep that in mind when your car has problems and you are told about the many things that need fixing.
My bus was at another mechanic's for over 45 days before I got fed up and drove all the way from Glendale to Wabbit. I used to live in Venice and had a Beetle they worked on. It was fixed the next day. Seriously. Their prices are not inexpensive but fair and I believe they will be far cheaper in the long run because their work is solid. Remember, you get what you pay for. Ask plenty of (intelligent) questions, know your vehicle well and give them as much information to work with as you can and this will go a long way toward avoiding lengthy diagnostics. Kent and Wayne will happily explain how things work and why they need fixing in order of importance. Don't be a cheapskate and put off what needs fixing until it becomes a bigger problem because you will always pay more in the end. Cons: Waiting area could use some fluffing up

Quality work.
Consistent in quality, from service to recommendations of other places for services they don't have. Reasonably priced from my experience. I've gone here a couple of times and never had to bring my car back for the same problem. Though the mechanic may not be "nice" I get what I pay for; my car being fixed. That's all I need him for.

Cons: It's a long drive to Venice.

avoid this money trap
I agree with the previous review--avoid this place at all co$t. They are out to make money and that's the sad truth, their quotes are way over priced and the owner has a pompous attitude. He doesn't want to waste his time unless he knows you are willing to spend money. The only cars that they repair are old and thats what they should stick to. If you want great service and fair pricing I recommend VolksGolf instead on Venice Blvd. near Motor. Wabbit wepair quoted me a ridiculous amount for a simple job and I got it done cheaper at Volksgolf , not to mention the guy at volksgolf is super nice!
